Tackling homelessness

Helping homeless people to move on to secure homes and more stable futures is at the heart of what we do.

A key area of our work is supporting people who are homeless, living in temporary accommodation or who are at risk of becoming homeless.

We are also expanding our ‘move-on’ services and were awarded a capital grant from the GLA in 2019 to deliver homes to help rough sleepers and to support victims of violence against women and girls.

In partnership with local councils, we:

  • manage two homeless hostels,
  • work with vulnerable customers through our floating support service to help them sustain their home
  • work with young people at risk of homelessness.

Arlington homeless hostel

Arlington is our flagship service in the heart of Camden. It is inspired by the Times Square scheme pioneered by homeless charity Common Ground in New York. We have converted what used to be basic lodgings for those in need, when it first opened in 1905, into a modern facility which prepares our homeless customers to achieve independence and re-integrate within the community.
